More, an Academy-Award nominated short-film

The Academy-Award nominated animated short-film tells the story of a lonely inventor, whose colorless existence is brightened only by dreams of the carefree bliss of his youth.
By day, he is trapped in a dehumanizing job in a joyless world. But by night, he tinkers away on a visionary invention, desperate to translate his inspiration into something meaningful.
When his invention is complete, it will change the way people see the world. But he will find that success comes at a high price, as it changes himself, as well.

The film is much deeper than remarks I've witnessed. The main character is engulfed with dullness and ordinary days. He seemingly loathes his job and life. Striving for happiness, he invents goggles that converts a melancholy reality into something surreal and ideal to him. He begins to commercialize it for others. Soon enough, "Bliss" just turns into another "Be Happy" product that doesn't acquire true happiness. The "happiness" it gives is delusional and temporary when one realizes that it is falsehood.
The moral is materials are not life which is why materialism is silly.

  3. WHAT he sees the inventor yelling down at him so he makes a happy device, then sells it to be like the inventor, and then realizes that selling his happiness makes him empty again

  4. Yes... He does it to be helpful, but in the end, when he is "successful" with money and his goggles he has an epiphany. He realizes it's not real (the happiness) and feels empty again. The reason why his box doesn't shine again, in my opinion, is that through wanting to make happiness he'd kill himself a little without intention. Sort of metaphorically..killing himself.

  5. When the booger character starts raking in the money he loses vision of what it was to be happy. Then a long time passes and he peers out the window and sees children playing and is reminded of what he has forgotten. then he sits and watches pr0n.

  6. Don't know if you knew this, but an artist named Kenna used this short film for one of his music videos.
